Church FellowshipSMALL GROUPS Part of the Fellowship program at WPC is known as "small groups." Below are listed three of the groups. All are invited to participate as desired. WPC MARCHEURS DE LA RUE CLUB Join us each Monday if weather allows as we fellowship and walk through Valdese. We meet at 3 PM at the track behind the Old Rock School. Call Elaine Applegate (874-3095) for more information, but you do not have to call in order to come walk....just show up! MORNING & EVENING BOOK DISCUSSION GROUPS AT THE TRON HOUSE Do your New Year’s Resolutions include plans to read more, increase your knowledge, see your friends more often as well as socialize more and make new friends? If these interest you, join us at our Monthly Book Discussion Groups! These groups are designed to allow readers several weeks to acquire and read the selected books. The format of the book discussions includes provided questions and group discussions. All are welcome to participate. Feel free to come when you can and/or come when you are interested in what is being read and discussed. Feel free to come each time, to either or both groups. The Dinner for 8 participants met in early November to review the program and get organized for 2012. The consensus was that this has been a successful and fun fellowship endeavor and everyone who participated in 2011 is anxious to continue. The participants were reassembled into new groups for 2012, along with several new people who have expressed interest in joining. The JETT Set, off-site, Luncheon groups will continue during 2012. Coordinators of the four 2012 evening groups are Marianne Cannon, Lu Griffin, Linda Harvey and Brenda Zimmerman. They will be contacting the other participants in their groups to set the dates and plans for the January dinners. Please call one of these coordinators to join one of the groups, or just to learn more about them. HISTORICAL COMMITTEE SPONSORS EVENT On Sunday January 29, the Historical Committee sponsored a slideshow program by Nick Palmer, a lifelong member of Waldensian Presbyterian Church. Col. Palmer has visited the Waldensian Valleys several times, while riding his motorcycle and taking numerous pictures. Nearly 100 people were present as he talked about the history, scenery, architecture and family ties he observed as he visited the many villages. Below are several pictures taken at the event.
