Christian Education

Christian Education is central to our Christian lives, as we grow in our faith and learn how to live out our lives in our world.  Through the study of the Bible, our Christian beliefs and the history of those who have come before us, we will become better equipped to be disciples of Christ as we journey through all the aspects of our lives.

SUNDAY SCHOOL 9:30-10:30

Adults

• Seasons of the Spirit:  A lectionary based curriculum, studying and discussing the Bible and how it relates tour everyday lives.
  Uniform Class:  Using the “Present Word” curriculum in a three-year cycle to journey through the Bible.
   

• Contemporary Issues:  The short-term study of various religious books, leading to a deeper meaning of our Christian theology in today’s world.

YOUTH CLUB-LOGOS

• A mid-week, after school program for k-5th grade children.  This ministry reaches beyond the bounds of our local church, also bringing in children from our community, as they participate in RECREATION, MUSIC, BIBLE STUDY and FAMILY TIME (DINNER).

WEEKLY ADULT CLASSES

• Disciple Class:  A two-hour, nine month, in-depth Bible studies, meets at various times.  It is a series of 4 years, basically taking the student through the whole Bible.
   

• KOINONIA:  Gathers young adults together on Thursday evenings for fellowship and exploration of the Christian life through the Bible and various media forms.

CONFIRMATION CLASS:  For youth who are preparing to make a decision to join the Church.  The use of study materials and hands-on experiences helps in the understanding of what it means to be a Christian disciple.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL:  Summertime fun, fellowship and learning for children and adults. The theme varies from year to year, as we explore the Bible and its meaning for our lives.  VBS meets in the evening beginning with dinner.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION SUNDAY:  An August celebration that begins with breakfast and is the start of our new Christian Education year. Activities, awards and promotions to new classes, are part of this Sunday for all ages.

ADVENT-ALTERNATIVE GIFTS BREAKFAST:  Join us on the 1st Sunday in Advent for breakfast, Advent activities, and an opportunity to Christmas shop.  Mission stations are set up where monetary gifts may be given to charities in honor of someone special.

CHURCH LIBRARY:  A self-service library of excellent resources, including books and other media for all ages are available for all to enjoy.

This is a time to celebrate the beginning of a new year in our Christian Education Ministry.  Thanks be to God for the blessings he has given us in calling dedicated leaders and teachers to nurture us in our Christian faith.  If you are not involved in a class, try us out.  We have many opportunities available for you.
