Worship
Worship services at
Waldensian Presbyterian Church (WPC) are at 11:00 am each Sunday. Nursery care for
pre-school age children is provided. The Holy Sacraments of Communion and Baptism are a
periodic part of worship. Throughout the year there are other opportunities to worship
together, such as prayer groups, ecumenical worship with other churches in our community,
and our annual Christmas Cantata musical service.
The sanctuary, which has undergone numerous enhancements and expansions in recent years is
highlighted by its majestic pipe organ and its stained glass windows which depict thirteen
other Christian nations and the Presbyterian Church USA with a variety of Christian
imagery. From the image above, you can see the lectern and pulpit. Flanking these are pews for the youth choirs (and
additional seating in cases of high attendance.) The Chancel choir sits behind and on
either side of the Communion Table. The pipe organ console and the piano
are located behind the table.
Leading worship through music are the Chancel Choir (shown below) and several Youth Choirs, as well as an adult Handbell Choir. French hymns often serve as part of worship to commemorate the unique heritage of our church.
In an effort to extend its ministry to anyone interested but unable to attend, WPC offers large print bulletins, devices for the hearing impaired, and a tape ministry program for those who cannot fully participate in worship services.
